Extract North East Ltd specialises in cavity wall insulation removal. Located in Seaham, we primarily work throughout the North East and West Coast, although we can cover all areas of the UK.
There are a multitude of problems associated with damaged, failed, aged or poorly installed cavity wall insulation. These problems include damp walls and the growth of mould - neither of which equals healthy or pleasant living conditions for the occupants of the building.
Using the latest extraction machinery, we will cost-effectively remove the insulation, carrying out all remedial repair works required.
At Extract Northeast we try to make the customer’s journey as simple as possible. We’ve outlined the process below.
Once a customer enquiry has been taken, an appointment is made to survey the property.
For the survey we will take down all measurements and carry out combustion ventilation checks, as well as health and safety checks. We will also take external photos and internal cavity photos.
All paperwork will be completed at this stage, and any questions you have will be answered (this is a free, no-obligation survey).
We will then compile a report to detail the findings of the survey, which we will issue to you along with a quotation for the works required. The quote is non-obligation and will stand for three months from the date of writing.
Once you have accepted the quote, our administration team will contact you to arrange a suitable date for the works to be carried out.
On arrival, the on-site operatives will introduce themselves to you and explain how the works will proceed.
If there are external flues to the property, the operatives will carry out combustion checks on any appliances.
A spillage test will also take place before the works start, and again after they are complete (as per survey).
The full property will be drilled out with a 22mm drill bit. These holes are drilled into the motor beds where they meet, to form an upside-down T. This is done to minimise damage to brickwork.
Bricks at lower level are removed to allow access for the extractor vac. Pipe bricks are removed above DPC level to avoid damage to the damp proof course.
Extraction begins with the air-line being placed into pre-drilled holes. Air is inserted into the cavity, which forces old materials towards the extraction point. Holes not in use will be plugged to minimise excessive dust and fibres escaping outside while works are ongoing.
The extractor vac transfers all materials and waste into bags for disposal via skips at our depot.
Once all materials and rubble are removed, all remedial works are completed. Tidying up can then commence. Operatives do not leave the site until you are satisfied with the results.
Internal photos are taken again to show that the cavity is clean and free from materials and debris. You will get a second report showing work carried out to high standard by a registered company.
